Will LIV Golf receive world ranking points?
Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Commissioner, and DP World Tour CEO Keith Pelli resigned voluntarily from the Men’s Golf World Ranking Committee (OWGR). Accordingly, attention is drawn to whether the LIV Golf Invitational (LIV), sponsored by Saudi Arabian capital, will be able to receive world ranking points.
According to the British media Telegraph on the 24th (Korean time), 온라인바카라 CEO Pelli said, “Commissioner Monahan and I have decided to withdraw from OWGR. Representatives of the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and the four major tournaments gather to evaluate the rankings of the OWGR, but the PGA and DP World Tour, which are hostile to LIV, are excluded from now on.
The PGA Tour bans LIV players from participating. However, the four major tournaments (Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, British Open) are not banned.
LIV was launched last year, but ranking points were not awarded to LIV competitions, and LIV CEO Greg Norman constantly asked for ranking points in media interviews. Representative Pelli added, “I have never seen the (world ranking) request submitted by LIV.”
