Individual Qualification Russian and Belarusian athletes can participate in the World Taekwondo Championships
Russian and Belarusian athletes will be able to participate in the World Taekwondo Championships to be held in Baku in May.
The World Taekwondo Federation (WT) held an emergency executive committee meeting on the 3rd (local time) and decided to have Russian and Belarusian athletes participate starting from the World Taekwondo Championships to be held in May.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February of last year, the WT side, in step with the world sports world, banned Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the tournament.
However, after about a year, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to allow them to participate in international competitions, and the WT also decided to follow suit.
Athletes from Russia and Belarus who want to participate in the World Taekwondo Championships must submit a written oath to the WT after being verified by the respective national associations and the Continental European Federation. 먹튀검증
Afterwards, after receiving the final evaluation and approval from the WT Jury Committee, they can participate in WT-hosted competitions.
However, players who are related to their own military and intelligence agencies or who have declared support for the war in Ukraine, and those who do not meet the standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) cannot participate in the WT-sponsored competition.
